Scout Visit 2010 was held from 5th June to 6th June. It was a very exciting and adventurous trip by Second Lhaviyani Scout Group to Velidhoo. A total of 33 scouts, 8 officials and some parents took part in this trip. Scouts went to Velidhoo on 5th June at 8:15 am and they gave us a warm welcome. After the welcome drink all the scouts went to school and rested for a while. Then they had the breakfast. Then they got ready for the opening ceremony. Chief Guest was the Deputy principal of Noonu Atoll Education Centre. Then Scouts went for a tour of the Island, it was very adventurous. Then all the scouts had a rehearse of the visit show. After the rehearsel there was a football match between the teams of Second Lhaviyani Scout Group and Second Noonu Scout Group. The winner was the Second Noonu Scout Group Team. Then was the most exciting event of the Visit - THE VISIT SHOW-. It was held from 8:30 to 11:30. Many items were performed by both the Scout Groups and full support was given by the Audience of Velidhoo.

Working Day 2010

Working day was celebrated by Scouts to provide a service and to earn a revenue to carryout the activities of out group. It was celebrated on 17th April 2010. All the leaders got together at 7:15 in the morning and all the scouts came to school at 7:30. The Island was divided into 4 parts, and two patrols among 8 were given a part. Each patrol was given a letter signed by the unit leaders, group leader and the co-ordinator.

MNDF EXPO

This was the second activity held by the MNDF on the occassion of their anniverasary. It was on 23rd April 2010.

A TRIP TO GHAZEE - MALDIVES NATIONAL DEFENSE FORCE ANNIVERSARY

Ghazee is the second biggest Ship of the Maldives National Defense Force. On the occasion of MNDF anniversary, students from different schools were taken to Ghazee for exploring it. 20 scouts from the Second Lhaviyani Scout Group, 20 Guides and 11 teachers took part in this trip. This trip was suppose to be

on the 118th Anniversary Day, that is 21st of April, but it postponed to 22nd April due to an incident. Total participants were divided into 5 groups and different parts of the ship were shown. They include:

• Engine Room: Engine room has the some engines to use in case of emergency as a back-up.
• Desalination Plant
• Cooling System: This system helps to cool the rooms and the bridge.
• Electricity Generator: This is used to generate electricity for all the purposes of the staffs.
• Accomodation room: All the staffs working in the shipsleeps here and there are seperate cabins for senior staffs.

02nd PRACTICE SESSION -9th APRIL-

The second practice session of the year 2010 was on 09th April 2010. This session was held on Friday because there was Snorkeling for grade 10 students on Saturday. Beginning of the session was with the opening ceremony. Recitation of holy Qur'an was done by Hussain Jumaan Jaufaru. After the ceremony the scouts went for playing at 06:05am. Then the songs were practiced. Lesson was carried out later. Many helpful documents were given to the scouts. The documents have been attached below. After the lesson a very unique task was carried out. That was a 'DRINKING RELAY'. Each scout was suppose to drink a cup of each drink. Drinks include Coffee, Black Tea, Salt Water, Lemon Water, Sugar Water and Ahivah Drink. The groups were divided on this day.

BEGINNING OF THE SCOUT ACTIVITY FOR 2010

Scout activity for this year began on 3rd April 2010. All the scouts got together at 5:30am on that day and the opening ceremony started at 6:30am. The chief guest of the ceremony was School's deputy principal Mrs. Khadheeja Adam. Ceremony began with the recitation of holy Qur'an, It was read by the Scout member Mohamed Shaan. Translation was read by scout member Sam-aan Abdullah. The flag was hoisted by the chief guest for officially inaugurating the scout activity for 2010. Later on, the regular practices started. First there was a little game called BINGO. This helped the scouts to know each other well. Next everyone went for playing football. The session ended with the closing ceremony after singing some songs. All the scouts enjoyed the first practice session of 2010.

7th SAF SCOUT FRIENDSHIP CAMP

The first activity of Second Lhaviyani Scout Group after the Get-together 2009 was the 7th SAF scout friendship camp. SAARC countries have been hosting and organizing SAF scout Friendship camps since 2002 in association with the South Asian Foundation. Last year Bharat Scouts and Guides, India hosted the 7th SAF scout friendship camp from 20-26 November at the National Youth Complex, Gadpuri, District Palwal, Haryana with the theme 'Peace and Solidarity'. A total of 17 scouts from Maldives took part in the camp, from which 2 were from Second Lhaviyani Scout Group. They were Ahmed Nazeeh and Mohamed Mihusan. Total 151 students participated from Maldives, India, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri-lanka and Bangladesh. Places visited include the famous Tal Mahal,The Red Fort in Delhi and also the Red Fort in Aagra, Akbar's Tomb, Famous India Gate etc... Haryana, Delhi and Aagra are some of the most amazing and coolplaces in India!!!
