21st March (Visitor's Day)

Inspection

The third Inspection of the Camporee started at 07.00 in the morning of 21st March. The Inspection was a lot strict than the last one, but according to our SPL (Senior Patrol Leader), Hussain Jumaan, the Inspection team congratulated the SLSG, for the quick improvement again. After about two hours of Inspection, the scouts freed from the hard time to relax and have some breakfast. After about 30 minutes, the next activity on the schedule for the Yaagooth, sub camp starts, so the Group got ready for it. The Morning activity was the Second Module; "Swimming Activities".

Swimming Activities - Module no. 2

The Module had 4 parts in total. It was Swimming, Life Saving, Rowing and Rafting. Scouts were eager to do the tasks as they really wanted the Camporee Award, which will be given to each scout who finishes all the four Modules. After some difficulties, all the scouts managed to finish the Module. The scouts got some good experience in the water from this module. The Module was conducted by MNDF (Maldives National Defense Force) After they finished the Module, they came back to the Camp site, prayed and again got ready for the final activity scheduled, the remaining part of the "Social Accountability"; "Crime Prevention".

Social Accountability - Module no. 4

The Activity started at 14.30 in the afternoon and ended at 15.30. All the scouts got some information about the common crimes and how to handle, which proved excellent for scouts like us. This part of the Module was conducted by the Police. After they finished the activity, they returned to the camp site to greet the visitor's from N. Velidhoo. As, the Day was Visitor's Day, many residents visited the camp site in the evening. The results of the Inspection were also displayed at the time and it showed that the SLSG were at eighth positon, but with a deduction of 5 marks. If the deduction was not done, the SLSG would be on the fourth position. This was a real success!!

Cultural Night - Two

After the visiting program ended, the scouts hurried to get ready for the Cultural night, as they had to present their item tonight. The show started at about 20.30, and SLSG scouts presented their item professionaly and  the crowd got a deserved entertainment. On the Night, SLSG, R. Inguraidhoo, R. Maduvvaree and H Dh. 5th North Camporee, N. Velidhoo, "19th and 20th March"

19th March

Inspection

The Day started with a surprise "Inspection" for the Scouts, as they were taken up at 4.00 in the morning to get ready for the "Inspection". The Scouts gave their best to make the Camp site ready for the Inspection, but the difficulties they faced were huge, as the Inspection itself was a surprise for them. When the Inspection started most of the scouts were not ready but the Camp site was. So, we assumed that there will be a deduction in marks and we will fall back a bit. But that didn't turn us, the SLSG(Second Lhaviyani Scout Group) down. There were still three Inspections left, so to improve for the upcoming was prior to us. The Inspection started at 07.00 in the morning and ended at about 08.30. We got a hard 30 minutes to eat or breakfast, as the next item on the schedule, starts at 09.00. The task's called "Camporee Challenge".

"Camporee Challenge"

Camporee Challenge - Module no. 1

As the Camporee is divided into major 4 Modules; Camporee Challenge, Water Activities, Development Village and Social Accountability, the first task we the SLSG got was the Camporee challenge. The SLSG is always prepared, respecting for the Scout Motto, so most of our scouts had no difficulties in completing this Module. The "Camporee Challenge" gave the scouts of SLSG some taste of a camporee, and they started to get into this. They all were excited and they removed any regrets, if any, for coming to the Camporee! After the "Camporee Challenge" scouts came back to Camp site and got ready for their prayer and after that they again set back to the items on the schedule. The next one starts at 13.30, and the Module is the Third Module; "Development Village"

Development Village - Module no. 3

All the scouts of SLSG gathered in n.a.e.c for the 3rd Module; Development Village. There were two programs to be done from the Module; the Fire Fighting and the Basic First Aid, the remaining was to be done on another day.
Basic First Aid Class

The scouts successfully completed the first two parts of the third module and they really got some information and idea about Fire fighting and Basic First aid. The module was a really good one, well, it was for SLSG!
Fire Fighting Class
After this, the scouts again came back to their Camp Site and spend their time until the next one on the Schedule; "Friendship Circle". Before anything else, the results of the inspection were given out, which shocked each and every scout of SLSG, as we came on the bottom, 9th position. But this sure won't turn us down. The motivation of the scouts increased surprisingly, as they started to try harder to get up from this well they have fallen.

Freindship Circle

The Friendship Circle is an event where the sub camps, enjoy the night separately, with each group performing an item. The sub camp, which SLSG belonged was "Yaagooth" and the other two sub camps were named, "Alimas" and "Feeroaz". The Friendship Circle of the "Yaagooth" sub camp went in an excellant way, hence all the scouts of lh. hinnavaru, r. inguraidhoo and r. maduvvaree got re freshened, and the three groups got know each other very well. This item was also a very good item for the Camporee as the scouts made new friends from different islands. The Friendship Circle started at about 20.30 and it ended at about 22.00. After the Friendship Circle, the scouts of SLSG head back to their camp site to have some rest and sleep, which they deserve more than ever. All the scouts of SLSG sleep in one tent, (the big one made from "Fan Bondi"), unlike other groups! Many more items awaits for the participants of the Camporee on 20th March! The scouts sleeping peacefully knows it more than anyone!

20th March

Inspection

Stareted at 07.00 in the morning, the second inspection went better than the first one, as the Inspection team was surprised at the fast improvement of us, SLSG! After the Inspection comes the item scheduled on the Camporee Activity list, for the SLSG of Yaagooth sub camp, it was the remaining parts of the third Module, Development Village. The activities of the Camporee goes sub camp wise, so the whole yaagooth sub camp need to work together, this also strengthened the bond between the three groups of lh. hinnavaru, r. inguraidhoo and r. maduvvaree.

Module no. 3 - Development Village

The two remaining parts of the third module was carried out in this event, which started at 09.00. The two parts were called, "Community" and "Scout Craft". The first one, "Community" included cleaning an area of the N. Velidhoo, which increased the community skills of the scouts. The second, "Scout Craft" was a session conducted by some Rover Scouts, which helped the scouts to wake up their skills sleeping inside in the deepest of their bodies. After the morning activities, the scouts head back to the camp site to do the prayer and to re freshen their minds to  the next item, fourth Module, "Social Accountability", which starts at 13.30.

Module no. 4 - Social Accountability

The Yaagooth sub camp had to carry out two parts of the fourth module; Social Accountability. The first part was "Environment Awareness", which was carried out by some volunteers. The program gave the scouts some basic knowledge about the critical condition of the environment of us. The second was named, "Health Awareness", which was conducted by the Health Centre of N. Velidhoo. This program increased the knowledge of Health among the scouts.
After the programs, the scouts got some rest, which they deserves, and they had no work after 15.30, when the programs mentioned above ended. So, the scouts of SLSG took this time to get ready for the 3rd inspection, as the results of the 2nd inspection was piblished. The results showed great improvement in the SLSG, as we moved 2 places ahead to 7th position.

Cultural Night -  One

Later at the night, at 08.30 starts the "Cultural night", where, 5 groups of scouts will perform a traditional item on stage. The SLSG will be performing tomorrow night, (21st March), so all they had to do was to watch the show! "Yaagooth" sub camp and the h dh. kulhudhuhfushi were the reamaining groups who performs the next night.

After the show ended, the scouts came back to the camp site and some of the scouts completed the work of the gate, while some finished up the unfinished work of the kitchen and dining room, and the remaining cleaned up the area. After the work was done, scouts slept peacefully in the BIG Sleeping Tent of them!
